  • Senior Maddie Meyers cradles down the field at the girls varsity lacrosse game against Parkway South. The current season record is 2-0. “Our season so far has been challenging, rewarding, and extremely competitive,” Meyers said. “One of the highlights so far has been our first game against Hazelwood West — we won by a landslide, stayed composed amidst frustrating playing, and celebrated with Fro Yo after! It couldn’t have been a better start to my senior season.”

  • On Friday, April 11, the French Club met to play the french game “Mille Bornes”. Attendees enjoyed macarons as a treat while playing.

Junior Dante Zou and senior Andrew Karpman work together in their Medical Interventions class taught by Doug Verby to create a transhumeral (above the elbow) articulating prosthetic arm with individually movable fingers, wrist and elbow joints. The assignment's goal was to use the arm to drink a cup of water without spilling. "Through this project, Andrew and I learned how even a simple everyday task we take for granted, such as drinking a cup of water, can be difficult to model accurately due to the complex nature of human movement coordination,” Zou said. “Building our models with limited materials also meant that we had to tackle many material issues and adapt to complete our challenge."

Freshmen Izzy Cuddihee and Isabella Kotets compete in the DECA state competition with their business startup plan on Tuesday, March 25. The pair was surprised to be called up for the top 10 at the awards ceremony. “[The judge] called our presentation ‘very boring and not very good.’ We were in shock after that [and] completely lost hope. Then we were called up for second [place] which was insane,” Cuddihee said.
