What issues matter to you the most in this election? Why?
Currently, issues like abortion and Roe v Wade matter to me [the] most right now, [along with] Project 2025 in general. In my opinion, if [Project 2025] passes, it’ll affect the country in a very negative manner.
How do those issues connect to your life and the lives of those you care about?
As someone who was born a female, [abortion rights] matter to me and other women in my life. It’s a thing that is important to me.
When did you first start caring about these issues? Was there an event that happened or a conversation you had that piqued your interest?
I think it was Roe v Wade, [but] I don’t remember. That’s when I started caring about [politics] more. I already cared about [abortion rights] before, but [that was when they were] all right.
What issues do other young people around you seem to be concerned with, whether you agree with them or not? In other words, when your friends and classmates are discussing something politics-related, what’s the conversation usually about?
Abortion [as well as] Israel and Palestine [are] topics of discussion for people my age.
Do you think people your age can affect meaningful change regarding these issues? Why or why not? Have you ever taken any steps to try to address these problems?
You can speak out, but it’s not guaranteed to do anything. But it always can’t hurt to try to spread awareness.
