The Hacky Sack Club met in the quad. The club was founded by senior Baron Boric and is sponsored by Profe Micah Johnson. The club typically meets on B days during Greyhound Time in the quad or inside. “Profe Johnson introduced me and some of my peers to Hacky Sack, and he shared that a long wish of his is for a club or group to be created that’s dedicated to learning Hacky Sack,” Boric said. “The group I managed to get together does a great job at building solidarity and having fun from such a simple but enjoyable activity. Hacky sack club is a place where anyone can come to get rid of stress, make new friends and just have fun sacking.”

The girls tennis team is heading to state after wins at the districts, Friday, Oct. 11. Junior Julia Cramer placed first in singles, and seniors Riley Zimmerman and Ellie Cohn placed first in doubles. “The match against Whitfield was pretty stressful because it was the deciding factor on if Riley and I would be going to state or not. I remember Riley and I were up in the match but still wanted to stay energized and ready for anything,” Cohn said. “I hit a volley to win the match and felt so happy. This was definitely a raw feeling for me, especially since this was the first time I have been top 6 on the team to even play in districts.”

The Wellness Council met Thursday, Oct. 10, for World Mental Health Day. The council discussed students’ issues and what the council can do to address them. “In the Wellness Youth Council, we have many goals. However, the issue we are focusing on this year is the pressure to get good grades. We’re hoping to reach all of Clayton and ground those driven by the high academic standards at Clayton,” sophomore Lucinda Lloyd said. “The WYC is such a safe place to express ideas [to] help and inspire others.”
