Last summer, nearly a semester ago, I spent nearly three weeks with my family in South Korea. We saw many amazing landmarks, such as the East Gate and the huge shopping centers in Seoul and Pyeongtaek. The most striking places we visited were the beautiful, ancient Buddhist temples. As you can see in the temple pictured above, these are intricately designed and full of meaning, connecting us to the past. Many of them were built into the tops of mountains, incorporating the rock as part of the temples themselves.
