The 2012 Republican National Convention hosted a wide variety of speakers, including Clint Eastwood, John McCain, Marco Rubio, and, of course, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.
As expected, Romney accepted the presidential nomination. In his speech, Romney tried to appeal to women, talking about the journeys of his wife and mother.
Clint Eastwood, famous movie producer and actor, was a surprise attendee of the convention, and used his time to criticize President Barack Obama. He mimicked a conversation Obama, talking to an empty chair next to him. Eastwood led the crowd in chants of “let him (Obama) go”.
The convention was held in Florida, and the first day was shortened due to the incoming hurricane Isaac. The Democratic National Convention will occur next week.

AWESOME stories, Peter. Your reviews of both the DNC and the RNC were great, and I really appreciated reading them.

@Lash Yes the truth is always in the middle but the fact is, the DNC was much more interesting and enlightening to watch than the RNC. I am not surprised that the length was greater in Peter’s DNC because there was so much more to talk about. My pupil Peter has written a fantastic story.

Ahhh…..the art and manipulation of the English language! From reading both of your articles on RNC and DNC, I could discern your political leanings from the descriptive words you used. I was hoping for neutrality…..especially from a high school student who should be challenged with developing objectivity. I thought your articles were written well…….the descriptives gave the author away.
…….The truth is always in the middle.

Not bad, but watch out for some grammatical mistakes. Also, make it more personal. I could have easily read about this in the New York Times, so why should I spend my time here? Think about this mentality as you write. I know journalists have to be neutral, but some bits about your reaction to the convention or how you felt would have made this a better story.
