A memorable season for the St. Louis University Billikens came to an end today. The team, who clinched a nine seed in the tournament, fell to the Michigan State Spartans, a one seed.
The Billikens came into the tournament with a 26-8 record. The Spartans outlasted the Billikens to win 65-61. St. Louis still hung tough. They were competitive in the game until the final minutes. Guard Kwamain Mitchell tallied 13 points in the loss.
In the tournament’s second round, St. Louis defeated the Memphis Tigers, their last win in the most successful season they have had in the past decade.
